Personal Genotyping Workshop

Learn how to analyze your own genomic DNA in this one day, hands-on workshop! Through a variety of methods, personal genotyping enables researchers to spot genetic differences between individuals. Its applications range from forensics, to medical diagnostics, personalized medicine and ancestry mapping.

Project H.A.M.S.S.

The High Altitude Microbial Sampling Station (HAMSS) will be air sampling device, lofted into the stratosphere by a weather balloon and retrieved using an off-the shelf GPS unit. The purpose of the mission will be to capture and sequence any microbes that my reside within the upper reaches of the earth's atmosphere.

Synthetic biology bridge

Synthetic biology bridge is the inaugural project of the Genspace skunkworks group. It is a multi-level, multi-faceted project involving supporting independent research by high school students and testing different software and other infrastructure/tools developed in-house to make synthetic biology easier and more standardized for access by motivated members of the general public.
