In October three Genspace members (Oliver, Ellen and Sung) were invited to hold workshops in synthetic biology, genomics, and DIY lab equipment at Maker Faire Africa 2011. The event was held at the American University in Cairo, Egypt. The workshops were very well-received, and hopefully we will be back in Cairo again someday- it was awesome! We loved the spirit, humor, and warmth of the Egyptian people…
